Here are my babies at five days of age and their introduction to swimming in the bathroom sink. It started slow but ended up well. The hen was demonstrating to the bigger boys what a zoom is. The same thing tonight but with a quicker start. 10 minutes goes bye quick when you are having fun. Maybe they get the tote tomorrow.

Hopefully we will have pics like that in a little over two weeks. @Magnolia Ducks you have me worried about those two Quackers eggs especially if they have problems hatching during the day. Marcie will be working and taking care of the baby at the same time. She does not need the added stress of difficult hatch. The loss of Rou was very hard on her. We also found out that one of our original brood went missing in Navasota.

Number 5 is out all by himself and drying off. He got himself out a little early as his umbilical was still attached and he had to have a little operation to separate the shell. As long as they pip at the right end, they come right out. You only have to mess with them if they pip away from the airhole or if they internally pip with a foot and their heads underwater. This last one is hard to tell and this is the first time I sucessfully hatched one of those. Could be I had more trouble this time because of the double dose of Quackers genes.

Oh we will also find out if we are producing sex links. I have two good babies that will look like Quatro and three gray babies like Barbra Lewis. I thought it was just a fluke last time the colors came out that way, if it happens again this time, I claim sex linked.

9, 4 out of 7 on the first hatch and 5 out of five on this one. I'm going to make a go on 14 a week from saturday. I have lost my mind.
