Thank you! I appreciate the help. I have lived a sheltered life because my girls are 11 1/2 months old and never hurt.

It's good for scrapes and small cute and even wounds, it's for the ducks, the cats, the dog and me

Tonight I weighed my ducklings on day 17, the same as I did for their mothers last year. My ducklings weighed in at 1973g whereas their mothers weighed 1686g. I do not know if I will be able to get their final weight at 24 days, it was a struggle to get these numbers.

We are in lockdown with seven looking good . Only thing is one Pekin egg has twins and from what I have read the odds are not good. I was supposed to loan my ‘bator to the neighbor but now he wants me to hatch some chickens for him. He has 19 hens to one rooster. Do roosters do their job as well as drakes ? I would hate trying to hatch unfertile eggs and get blamed.

I remember vividly the last weight check in March last year, before they went from the garage to their outdoor brooder. I wasn't bitten in my nose, but it came really close multiple times as the display of the balance is really hard to read and you have to get close to what you're weighting… One of the White Layers almost got me, can't remember weather it was Blanca, yet all four are they're all gluttons.

Never owned chickens, but from what i have heart and read, a good rooster is as busy as a drake, they're just a little more discrete…
There are a lot of threads here for double yolks and hatching twin chicks - but they are all about chickens. Nothing about ducks so far. You can give it a try and just see what will happen. Candle often and when things go south just discard the egg.
I cannot even candle the eggs under my broody duck! Pinball is sitting for almost 23 hours every day, taking just 2-3 short breaks to poop, eat and drink. And if she sees me going into the house she immediately comes after me. Even more dedicated than Katharina Duck last year

My ducklings are three weeks old today. Here is their birth and now.

For reference the height of inside of the box is 12". Now I know what grow up fast means.

So cute and ready to go out next week. Mine were two weeks yesterday and can look over the top of the brooder but have to stand tip for to do it. Waiting for news on pinball duck hatching and @Texag87 h as five brand new ones. I also have 14 in the bator and a new run on the way.
