Ducks are very liberal in that matter…
But i think no, the genes are not working that way, at least as far as we know.
But duck genetics is still a mystery for me, even though i've read through @Pyxis' article over and over. My drake LeRoy Brown has a beautiful symmetric crest, but clearly is a descendent of a White Layer, due to his size and posture. But: The only crested Ducks i had were the two Black Swedish girls Pommes and PomPom and i never had a White Layer Drake.
