Announcement 2020 Update: Political and Politically Charged Content Not Allowed

I feel like the avatars should stay. My reasoning: my avatar says Hate Has No Home Here. It obviously is anti-racist. Things like that's support human life, it states you be live all lives should be treated the same. However, the pro Trump or Biden and other politicians seems more like a my way is the right way to me. Just a thought.

I don't think yours is political, it is decent human decency, but I have actually seen ones that are for one party or the other.

Edit: I was on a thread with someone with a Trump avatar, I can report it if need be, i don't know who it was, I am sure of what thread though.

Personally, I know I chose to join this community for all of the “Chicken Resources”. I respect every person’s opinion, but you know...Right Place, Right Time! And if I wanted to surround myself with a different topic, then I’d probably search for that specific forum community! Love Y’all!

There is a report button on a members page, otherwise you can pm a moderator.

Yup, you can also report a post from that member, and in the notes just clearly say "PLEASE REVIEW AVATAR" or similar.

I have a few questions.
What counts as political? Do political jokes count as political? Is racism considered political ( still bad, whether it’s political or not in my opinion)? Is saying the USA has a president considered political?

If any of this comes off as rude, I’m sorry. I’m just wondering where the line is drawn on these sorts of things so I can do my best to avoid them.

All good questions. I would assume its like a conversation, if its something that could turn political, Probobly not.

Though this like, Rich Whie Guy 2020 is pretty hard to argue with in my opinion.

I really wish it was always an easy, clearly demarcated situation where anybody would look at a piece of reported content and say either:

1) "Clearly that's political"
2) "Clearly that's not political"

... unfortunately there are thousands of items reported that are in a very VERY gray area between those two extremes.

What one person feels is "good and right", another person feels it's "bad and wrong". It's basically the reason why the peeps (the US particularly) is in so much turmoil. Nobody can agree on what's "right or wrong", just like a lot of our members will question the items we determine are "politically charged".

It's these gray-area cases where our AMAZING staff will do the best they can to review, discuss, and decide which items are / are not appropriate for our community.

NOTE: We do not "choose sides". Often there are times where one or more of our moderators actually agree (sometimes very strongly) with an item they are removing. It's not about "right vs. wrong", but about avoiding topics that we know are currently very charged and create debate... and those specific items probably will change over time. Thank goodness we have such an amazing team of moderators that work hard to put their own biases aside and do what is best for our wonderful community!
