I've only used the broomstick.

But my wrists have taken damage since then and I'm not sure I could hold on to a sizeable meatie.
Well with the cone you’re sorta holding them into the cone by the neck so they don’t flap out where you don’t have to do that with the shackles. Maybe something to look into. I had used shackles cause a neighbor brought them but when I had to buy my own equipment the cone was all I could find. You can google examples. I just don’t wanna post them on this particular thread lol. Both are good, just sharing my own experience!

Instead of replacing your cracked rubber boots you might try shoe goo! I'm always squatting in the garden with my birds and I cracked my new boots right away. I put this glue between the cracks and made a patch on the outside as well. My patches are stronger than my original boots, they've been going for 7 years in the rainy PNW!

I use a baby monitor with my flock! I love it, but have to turn it off after 4am due to rooster reasons 😂 I got it because of persistent predators and I was hoping the coop ruckus would wake me up in time to chase off the predator. Of course after buying it, I haven’t had a predator problem since!
That’s hilarious I have a divo rooster as well and he has the loudest crow I’ve ever heard. He had this weird obsession recently with trying to out do a rival rooster in the neighborhood AT 2AM! It was a disaster so I basically extended their out door activity and now he’s usually too tired to try to compete at 2 am he does it around 5 now lol.

I can't say enough about my boot puller (yeah, I've posted about it three times now!). I bought another one recently for near the front door. No more holes in the backs of my boots from stepping on them to take them off. No more pain in my legs and back. No more touching nasty barn boots. And no need to sit down or bend over! It's cheap but so effective.
