2022 Chicks - Cackle Experience

Pics
My Wyandottes have _always, to a hen_ made me think they were roos when they were little. Pink combs and wattles by 3 weeks old. And nope, all pullets. IDK what's up with that breed, but I no longer stress 'em.
Good to know! I've only had two others last year, with one we thought was a roo who turned out to be a hen. I don't recall her having the coloring at early though, just that she was bigger and has bigger comb/waddle. She still has a sizeably bigger comb and waddle than her sister. Fingers crossed Pumpkin Pie is a hen so we can keep her.

My birthday batch is due in May, one day after my birthday, most likely.
Happy even earlier birthday to you! I did not time these chicks well for birthdays in this house. Though the eggs in the incubator will hatch a week before kiddos birthday. I don't plan to keep any of them unless the Sebright or Bantam Cochin hatch though. This was just a test run for later in the year.

Oh current name and banding list below! Some names are still flexible as kiddo has this need to name them all while the rest of us like to get to see personalities first 😆

While noting down Pumpkin Pie's roo suspicion, realized it's the one that was very sleepy to begin with. The only chick that spent the first two days sleeping, with minimal movement other than to eat or drink. Kinda of interesting that it's the one who's showing colors first.

Ok I have a question....Cackle advises to put ACV in your chicks water for the 1st week to prevent pasty butt and to reverse that disease that starts with a c and ends with a dosis something. I spoke to a vet and they advised not to do this. Can anyone please tell me what their thoughts are on this?

I don't use the ACV and instead use Chick Boost in there waterers. I've never tried ACV so I can't speak to it's effectiveness.
