My understanding is that the shipping label is created after sorting on hatch day, when they've been boxed. So your birds would be a day 1/2 - 2 days old when received. Thats great! Less then 1 1/2 days in the mail stream is excellent!

Right???? That would be the best and worst job ever lolImagine working in a hatchery….they’d have to check my sweatshirt pocket and purse every time I punched out!
I’ll take one of these, and one of those, and one of this kind….lol!
Nope All good! Gave me a bit of a scare there. My home town office has someone cough"allergic"cough so chicks are kept Outside. And this thread just reminded me to double check which office my chick order is getting mailed to. I think I forgot to switch it to the office I work out of as opposed to my home town.![]()

Don't mind me, I'm just gonna take a sampling of the week... It's gonna be tough enough not keeping all the chicks we hatch even though the goal will be to sell them locally.Imagine working in a hatchery….they’d have to check my sweatshirt pocket and purse every time I punched out!

I ordered Splash Ameraucanas from Cackle Hatchery this year as well and can confirm they're generally louder and more shrill than the Splash Laced Red Wyandottes that were the second half of my orderThere are two little floofs with the loudest chirping voices I have ever heard. They've gotten water and food into them that I've seen, they can move around and get to different temperature zones in the brooder. I'm stumped other than they like to hear each other. It will go quiet for a few minutes then one will start and the other will respond and then it's just nonstop jabbering. Both Americaunas.
