2022 Chicks - Cackle Experience

Pics
My baby chicks are hatching/shipping on the 14th... I was so excited that I incubated some friends and have some babies hatching the same day. I can't wait! It will be exciting to see how the home grown babies develop compared to hatchery chicks, considering the stress and hustle of a multi-state (to VA) trip! I thought I would keep them separate for a few days until the Cackle babies have a chance to recover. Thoughts?
I think it depends on how they are all acting. If they seem to have the same energy levels and mobility putting them together would be fine. Otherwise maybe keep them separate for 24 hours to allow the travel chicks to acclimate.

I am doing the same in June! Hatching and picking up local chicks the week my 3rd group ships! I am planning to give each group a day or two separate to make sure everyone is healthy. Then I’ll combine. You should be able to combine babies at any point without issue. 😊

Mine are hatching & shipping from Cackle on March 14th too! Good luck with yours!

Best of luck to you, too! What are you getting? I have Red laced black Wyandotte’s (7), Blue laced red Wyandottes (4), and silver laced Wyandottes (4) coming, all straight run. So excited I’m counting down the hours until my batch hatch (also silver laced). Just two more days until lockdown!
All the Wyandottes! Our replacement Black Laced Red Wyandottes are getting shipped today. They didn't have enough hatch out on the first order date so are sending a second bunch. I'm so excited for the girls! Our current be Blue Laced are the most soxial and talkative of the bunch.

Following the same pattern. Estimated delivery Monday and getting scanned at Kansas City ~9pm on shipping day. I still figure Friday morning is likely.
