2022 Chicks - Cackle Experience

Pics
I have poults coming from Cackle that hatched/shipped out today. USPS is estimating they won't arrive until Monday though... I'm really hoping the holiday weekend isn't going to mess things up and they will get here sooner.

When I placed my order (last fall), I requested a ship/hatch date of April 11. They called me last week to say they had an overhatch and wanted to ship them out a week earlier, but I wasn't ready yet. Then they said they didn't set eggs to hatch on my selected day so I'd have to wait until Wednesday.

Fingers crossed, all turns out well... 🤞

My Wednesday shipment said that too, but they arrived on Friday. I think that is pretty normal for them and they generally arrive by Saturday at the latest unless USPS screws up like they did with my first order...

That makes me feel a little bit better. Did your tracking info update at all along the way? Mine haven’t been scanned since they left the Kansas City, MO distribution center.

After that one I didn't get a location update until Thursday evening after 9pm! Then I got the notification that they arrived at the post office Friday morning a little after 7am. :)

They are here and loud and lively! Is it normal for them to be a bit wobbly on their feet at this point?
Yay! They are probably stressed from the travel. If you have vitamin chick supplements for water, put that out & dip their beaks in. Show them the water and heat area. Sprinkle a bit of food on the ground for them to peck at. If they don’t perk up in a few hours, scrambled egg is a nutritious treat to put in the brooder.

How many & what did you get? (Sorry if I missed that earlier!)

I have nutri drench in their water - they all seem to be catching on to the nipple waterers with no issue!

I ordered 24 bourbon reds. I forgot to count when I moved them into the brooder 🤦🏻‍♀️ But so far I’ve tagged 24 so I at least got what I ordered

Those are some beautiful chicks!! How old were they when you put them outside? Ours are around the same age and they are literally flying the coop lol and we want to take them outside but were not sure we should since they are recovering from the coxy treatment.
