2022 Chicks - Cackle Experience

That’s quite a few boys to rehome/eat. 😳 Do they refund you for the 3 that were incorrectly sexed?
Cackle does have verbiage that they will refund any outside the 10% guarantee. I'm not sure how it works, if it's by breed or total % when several were 3 or 4 of the breed. Just looking at it though you have to bring it up by 12 weeks old and ours just hit 13 weeks today (we were on vacation). S c'est la vie I suppose? We essentially have 2 roos (1 was "free") out of 13 ordered pullets. So likely it would be a single chick refund and they did send us two extra straight run Ameraucanas. 🤷‍♀️

Still better than those we hatched out... Kiddo picked three chicks to keep and they were all roos 🤣🤣

So only 3 of my girls were sexed cackle BO. And they all seem like girls. Of my hatched 3 were girls that were color sexed at birth. And 4 were a mystery. It seems as though we have one definite EE roo and one EE pullet and one I’m still watching but hoping is a pullet. And the single lab. Orp seems to be pullet but it’s still wait and see.
Seems like we had very good beginners luck.
I love our roo, the one that has taken to my daughter from day one. I hope he stays nice.

Hello Cackle friends! Now that my flock is 21wks I have gotten my first eggs from my flock. So far only the olive Eggers are laying but others are getting close. Out of 30 pullet chicks ordered, all were female so good job Cackle. My flock included light Brahmas, welsumers, variety of Marans, Ameraucanas and austra whites. My austra white, daisy is beautiful and not flighty at all and has become a favorite. So my experience so far has been excellent, exceeding my expectations. When my other breeds start laying I'll post those pics as well so you can see the color quality of those as well

This is so fun, your eggs are so pretty. My 3 BO are all girls and one sprouted a super comb a week ago, mine are only 18 weeks but they are fun. We have one hatched EE cockerel and the rest are female.
a friend of mine moved a couple weeks ago, she asked me to take her 5 chickens, all laying. We have had 4-5 eggs a day since 3 days after they arrived. Only one hangs out with the little girls and one was really mean at first but she has improved. My rooster just started trying to crow yesterday and it’s the darnedest thing. All of my friends chicks are brown egg layers, as are most of mine. I have 2 EE hens, the future will bring a little color to my basket.

Thank you! It's amazing because some of the breeds I ordered had a lower sexing accuracy percentage. I am maxed out on space for roosters...I currently have 5 and did not want any more.

I ordered from Cackle and mine will be 17 weeks on Monday. So far, no issues here either. I still have three brahmas that I can't say for sure are females but will post here once I know the accuracy of sexing too. My birds are awesome though and expecting our first eggs any day now. Cackle seems to be the way to go.

Thank you! Waiting for them to start laying is one of the hardest parts for me. And roosters learning to crow can be quite entertaining. Just glad I didn't get any more! Good luck with your flock!

At 21 wks my Brahmas have not started laying yet but their combs are turning red and my rooster is showing interest in them...and they right back. I have 4 and one of them was a lot larger than the other 3 so thought it could be a roo but turned out not to be. I guess she's just a larger one. They all seem healthy and pretty calm. I have one blue Ameraucanas that seems a little high strung ...all the other 29 are calm.
