On day 4 after hatch I have 13 thriving babies. I expanded their brooder because I was afraid of them flying over the little wall and getting caught in the cold.

4 of them have feathered feet.

When the only feather-footed bird left in the flock is the Silver-Laced Cochin. Who is in the middle of a hard molt.

Alfredo is an OVERACHIEVER!

I wouldn't have thought she was laying at all, but I only collected eggs for 5 days and there those foot feathers are in all their glory!

I'm so happy u got a splash!!!
Do you have problems Alfredo's feet feathers breaking off in the run? I have the bark and chips and shavings in my run and havin awful time with a few of ems feet feathers.

Oh my goodness!!!!!!!

I love them! Your splash is adorable. I love splash chickens. Sometimes they're such a pretty pastel color that reminds me of marble.

Go Alfredo, wow! My chickens are all taking vacation from laying and you can barely tell they are moulting. You do have an overachiever.

No, my super-sandy soil seems to the perfect substrate for feathered feet.

I've never had any issues with Brahmas, Langshans, Marans, or this Cochin.
