I know. One more pointless post from you.
I do think clarifying questions should be allowed here. I like knowing when my question is unclear, and I'm sure others do too.

I'm sure you like that option since it gives more opportunities for you to add clutter to the thread.I know.

Right, some questions are way too long to add.On this specific issue, it's more of an issue when you're watching the thread. I have the same issue. Sometimes I'm watching multiple threads and I forget what question was asked on which thread I'm watching. (Especially when the question is a yes or no question. There's no quick indicator what question was, unlike a question asking what kind of fishing reel one uses.)
But yes, I agree on the title being cluttered. Plus some questions are long.
Don't forget the day has to fit somewhere too...But 1 or 2 extra keywords make a huge difference. And shortening the date to compensate is a possibility.
Notabitail suggestion:
QOTD, Jul 8th '25 how do you like your eggs? is (almost) perfect.
This would be great too imho. : Question OTD, Jul 8th ‘25 how-you-like-eggs?
Yeah, the date, IDC if it was a Tuesday or a Wednesday I just know it was the fifth and not the sixth or the seventh etc...Don't forget the day has to fit somewhere too...
That's exciting?!Also, putting the question in the title takes away all the excitement of finding out what the Q of the Day is.

Yes please! If the actual question is in the thread title, I don’t have to go back to the first page after a notification, to see what the question was.
But if you reply to the question then you will have it right there?
If you put the question in the title it’s going to look awfully cluttered, especially with “Question of the Day” and the date as well.

Possible format: "QOTD 9/7/25: Do you use sunscreen?"
I think with a couple changes to the format it could look a lot less cluttered, like having it say: QOTD, Jul 8th '25: how do you like your eggs? It's obviously still a question with a date attached and it's clearly part of a BYC question series so spelling out "question of the day, day, month, year, etc." isn't necessary.
But I like it that way…
I hate change unless it’s absolutely necessary, like my fixing my deck because it’s falling down.
You'll learn to like a different format after a minute![]()
That is (usually) true.

If the titles are to be uniform (which would be proper, considering these aren't just random threads) then the question must be included whether it's too long or not.

Also the day can be condensed if it's necessary, like Sun, Mon, Tues, Wed, Thur...
That's exciting?!I find it incredibly annoying to load an entire mystery page on my limited internet only to find out it's a rather lame question that I'd rather not waste keystrokes answering.
Great discussion, everyone!Y'all need to Play Nice! Let @casportpony decide what works best for her and we'll play Follow-The-Leader. If it needs some tweaking later on - it's her call!
