Fancy Nancy's feathers are not keeping her warm at 12 outside. I brought her in to warm up.

This is Miss Chungus. She's a buff orpington from the first batch of feed store chicks I got when I wanted to start keeping chickens. I swore when I got that first set of chicks that I would not have favorites. Chungus found that policy unacceptable and proclaimed herself favorite by trying to out-kissy-poo every other chicken she saw me hugging. She's almost 3 now and still at it with that, even with many more chickens added to the flock...including her own daughter, who inherited the must-be-favorite trait, so the hug competitions are getting a bit riddiculous lol.

Entry three, last photos of the little Tinki snuggling with me today. She slept in my jacket for almost half an hour. She now comes and sits on my shoulder while I work in the brooder. She supervises, always brings a smile to my face, and warmth to my heart.

This is my Bear. He hatched and was almost double the size of the other chicks and SOOO fluffy. He was and still is adorable. He has a great personality too! He enjoys coming in the house in the evenings and sitting on my bf's lap and watches TV with us. He always alerts us if he sees a bird on the screen. lol
He is a very special boy indeed.View attachment 3748114
