The town regulation for backyard chickens states that runs may not be more than 225 sq ft.

I assume this means length x width.

I hope it doesn't mean length x width x height, which too me would be cubic feet

I will have to call and find out for sure

If it is LxW, I am thinking either a 8x8 or a 10x8 or a 16x8 run with a height of 6 feet for easy cleaning.

If it is LxWxH, I am thinking an 6x6x6.

I could probably go down to 5 feet on the height in either, but what do you think of different options.

It is only going to be for 6 adult chickens (town regs) and the coop is 13 x 7.5 x Sloped roof 8 to 6 H

Meant to add, for me, walkin height is a must....not only for cleaning, but to avoid crawling through poop to get to a sick or dead bird or eggs or having to stoop.
Also, consider what your run flooring will be...dirt, sand, deep litter, etc.....for deep bedding items allow for that in calculating height needed

Is there a separate reg for the coop space too?

Nope just for the run.

The coop refs are : 2 so ft per chicken, enclosed on all sides , roof and access doors,, do doors shut, windows and vents less than 1 inch opening wire , and an adequate heat source.

Oooh....excellent question....so often these words get mixed up/combined/ misused espe

A)I hope the 2 ft is a minimum, not maximum
B)the "adequate heat source", um, none
