24 weeks and no eggs?

My BO started laying this past Monday, at exactly 24 weeks. Since last Thursday I've gotten 7 eggs between the 2 of them! The Australorp makes a neat little bare spot in the corner of the nesting box to lay, the BO makes a huge mess in the hen house and I have to search for them! But she's given me 3 eggs in 3 days, good girl! The Brahma and Easter Egger are still trying to figure this all out.

My Orp is also just starting to lay, she gave me a huge double yolker today, what color are your shells? Mine are kinda beige(ish) pinkish with speckles of white, just wondered if this is normal???

My Buff Orpington, Bonnie, gave us her first egg at 22 weeks old. It's been a week and a half now and she has given an egg a day consistently. Her three flockmates, a Black Australorp, a RIR, and a Barred Rock ..... nothing yet. All the same age.

I have 2 EEs that absolutely will NOT lay. They are over 6 months old now and nothing....their combs are starting to redden quite a bit so I'm thinking any day now.

We have three EE's and none of them started laying until about 30 weeks. Out of our flock of 10 original girls, the EE's were the last to begin laying. But I will say this, their yolks are some of the finest of our flock.

I have 12 23 week old chickens & my first EE started laying at 18.5 weeks, with the next by 19 weeks & now all 4 are laying. The Welsummers are not laying. Maybe 2 of 8 so far. I am getting not much but green eggs!

Oh happy day, I got my first egg today...Yippee!!

I was just on this thread Tuesday checking to see who else besides me was waiting for their first egg(s). My flock of 6 wyandottes turned 24 weeks on Monday so I've been very antsy! Then low and behold I hear the "egg song" this afternoon at 3pm and to my joy....my first egg! The other girls need to take notes and get with the program!

YAY! Congrats! I love that..."egg song". I only heard it this past Sunday because I work while they lay generally and it truly is a song. My Orp starting laying on Monday and she has laid an egg every day this week! Remarkable!

My Orps eggs are roundish, very light tannish pink with white specks, too.

I read that my Easter Egger and Brahma won't lay til at least 7 months old so I've been putting all my eggs in the worker chickens basket so to speak!
