$25 for one button quail?!?

The ONLY person I can find that has button quails in my area wants TWENTY-FIVE DOLLARS for one single quail. It costs $12 for 12 eggs that may eventually contain 12 quails so where does he get off charging $25 for one. I'm honestly furious.

All I want is a mate for Perti but there always has to be a giant obstical when I want something.

Poor Petri is getting so big but has nothing to do but pace back and forth all day.

By the way can anyone see if he's male or female?

How did you find that person?
There has to be more than that you'd think.

Have you considered advertising on craigslist that your looking for a female button quail?

(I think you have a boy there.)

I hope you find one soon! Right now ours is content with the company of the coturnix. I have ordered eggs, so later we will get it a mate.

We had a little boy quail raised alone and lived alone for almost a year. I think he was okay, actually. He didn't know WHAT to do when we finally gave him a girl.

'Course, he figured it out pretty quick.

$25 is absurd. Definitely check craigslist if you haven't already. What a pain. But really, your guy is still doing better than he probably would in the wild--so there is that at least. Good luck.

Here's another site, similar to craigslist, goes by city... Backpage.com

Have you tried to google bird clubs in your area? Alot of dove breeders have quail. You'd be surprised how many bird breeders keep quail. That's how I started.

Called all the pet shops and feed stores in your area?

actually my ad on craigslist that I posted about 10 days ago is how I found this guy. He's the only one that responded.

Try the other suggestions I gave .

Also try google something like... "Button Quail breeders in (your city)"
And the same for bird club.. "Bird Clubs in (your city)"
