OMG! Was just at the feed store and *all 28* of their adult peafowl are very sick with some type of respiratory infection, huge crusty eyes, sneezing, puffed up, etc. They have no antibiotics other than the yellow powder, whatever that is, and no intention of doing anything for them other than putting that in the water.

Are you serious ?????????????????? WOW !!!!!!! That is a shame. 28 adults??????????? Where do they keep all of them?

All of their adults are kept in two pens that are next to each other.

I also noticed a rooster that was sick, and he's for sale! $25 gets your flock infected, what a bargain!

I'm speechless. And no one at the feed store is concerned?

I hope you changed your shoes before going back home so that you don't bring that crap back to your house.

Unfortunetly I had no shoes to change into, so I'll do my best to clean them and where I walked... Heck, even my truck and the back of feed could be contaminated.

I should add that the manager is overworked and under paid, so I can't really blame him.

Sounds like they don't need any animals if no one can tend to them.

Did i mention that the two pens that the 28 peas are in totals an area of about 24'x10'?

Does your state have an animal health commission? I am not talking about the SPCA or PETA .
These folks test and keep track of outbreak in poultry and livestock. like if you have a horse come up hot they will test and retest your entire herd as well as any equine that may be neighboring or have been exposed to the said horse.
Our state does it for free, course it is federally funded so they may be outa work right now
