2nd Annual Rocky Mountain Chickenstock May 4, 2013

oh that does kind of remind me.. Shawn if i do set up to sell roaches do you want me to just set up by my chickens that will just be showing???? or should i bring a little table to set up cause i do have one that i take camping and its small.. let me know if you think i should just do that
bring something separate from showing..My plan (you know those well laid ones go...) is to have the show in one section of the barn and the for sale in another...

To tie up loose ends - I knew what i was thinking, and obviously assumed everyone could read my mind....

My son has his heart set on getting lil babes at Chickenstock. I did not speak up for any chicks that I had asked about because I promised him we would wait. He would be super disappointed if we agreed to fluffy butts now, and they were already feathering when we hit Chickenstock. We have 3 young pullets right now that he picked out from his Grandma & Aunt's collection, but he really wants to start with something even younger. He would love to hatch his own, but we don't have a bator right now and I'm just not mentally ready for that yet :)

BackYardChknLvr - your hen looks very nice! we also have a Polish (bantam). If Blu is pecking your topknots, I'm sure she wouldn't leave ours alone. So, count me out of the running for her. (also see note above about the fluffy butts)

I will certainly be making the rounds to see what everyone has brought for sale. Of course, too many choices might be a bad thing, good thing I only have 1 crate, lol.

I really like the idea of name tags - I believe Shawn said something about having them at the beginning.

Getting super excited!!

Hey Desert Springs I hope to have a few day old Ameracauna chicks available at chickenstock... I was going to ask $6 for them.. they are Wheaten Ameracaunas, chicks could be Wheaten/Blue Wheaten or Splash, kind of hard to tell at hatch... straight run... Getting VERY excited!!!! Maybe we should consider wearing name tags?? I've decided to call my little chicken operation RR Poultry, and I will have a booth, table, whatever, so that's where you can find me, please come introduce yourself=) (I know Lisa and Shawn already.. IcyOldHen and Lynn, come say hi so I can remember what you look like=)

Hello!!!

Yes, I'm definitely going home with chicks and possibly chickens...lol!!! (Probably lots!!...lol). RR Poultry... gotta remember that! My place is Desert Springs Farms; just getting it up and running: (AQHA performance horses, purebred poultry, apiary and Cashmere goats). Busy, busy!!

I'll visit you at your table, booth, (whatever). This is my first time at any poultry get together, so don;t know what to expect. Just know I'm leaving with age assorted pure Ameracaunas and in search for a young Del roo!! I have a Blue Splash roo and a few blue hens but my neighbor was babysitting them during my chicken crisis here, and WON"T send them back home...lol. Good thing we live next to each other, out here in this extreme rural area (only 3 neighbors on this entire dirt road).

I know nobody yet! UGH!! And I have a super bad memory from a head injury.... double ugh!!!!

Are you heading up Friday night then?? I am!! Anyway, CAN"T WAIT!!

Ok... I took a chance and ordered a few extra Chickenstock shirts... Get them while they last!!! When these are gone, they are gone... I have

I hope to meet all of you!! I'll be wearing a name tag that says Desert Springs (if I remember..ugh!!). I'm easy to spot... 6 feet tall and strawberry blonde hair, who is on the downwards slope of 50 years old...lol.

Looking forward to learning a lot and coming back with some exciting purchases.

I totally understand your hesitation on selling her since your tragedy (I'm glaring at your dog TOO!!!). If it were me I would keep her, but that's just me.

Christina
I will be wearing a teal plaid striped western shirt and jeans, I have red hair, a face full of freckles and am 5' 5 1/2", If I remember it I will have a nametag or sign on one of my carriers that says "Mo5C" a.k.a Mandi. I can't wait to see everyone there, Good Luck on showing your babies off ChknLvr, I like Desert Springs idea of keeping her, She is a beautiful hen.
