2nd Annual Rocky Mountain Chickenstock May 4, 2013

I'm not in a hurry to organize a big event like a Chickenstock, but seriously, can you really have too many chicken get togethers? LOL

My little polish baby is doing really well. The fluff on his head looks different than my other babies did so it's looking good that this one is a boy.

Oh, and I'm happy that you like Henry, Mesha! I told you he was a nice bird. He's so easy going and happy. The night before Chickenstock I put him in his travel crate and set it in the garage so I didn't have to catch him in a hurry that morning. (He had been running loose on the farm or put himself to bed in the barn but wasn't in a cage) First thing Saturday morning my husband says.....What is that sound???? LOL....Henry was crowing in his little crate, dancing around, and just being his silly self. Such a character.

I have a question for all you Chickenstock people.. I was talking to the extension people yesterday and the question came up about scheduling next year.. the last two years it has been the 1st Saturday of May, both years we had cool weather and some rain.. I would like to get some banners to use for advertising and have the event the same day every year.. i.e. 1st Saturday of May... last Saturday of May etc.. So we are considering moving the date later in May or even to the first Saturday of June for future events.. I would appreciate your vote as to the best weekend to permanently set the event for..

please go to the following poll and vote.. THANKS!!!

I think the 1st weekend in June would be fabulous.. just because my kids would be out of school and it would make traveling easier. also heard that june is the perfect time for visiting craters of the moon while we are out in that neck of the woods.

Not sure if dates affect hatches, fairs, etc... just throwing my vote out there publicly, lol.

Does anyone have a schedule for Fairs in the area?

Yes, I'm voting in the poll ;)

I have some ideas about a "photo front" that we could set up super quick, includes the Chickenstock logo and room for featuring prizes, etc...

The SE Idaho State Fair Starts on Labor day weekend... It is in Blackfoot, 25 min south of Id Falls. If I remember right there is a parade on either Monday or maybe the Saturday before? Fun stuff. Lots of animals too.

Greetings Grey Bird!!!

I have been searching for some pure Ameraucana cockerels to go with my young girls!!! YAY!!

I'll be at Chickenstock Saturday, coming in on Friday evening. Would love to reserve 1 of each color, if you could, Silver, Black and Blue (total 3).

Thank so much!!!!

Desert Springs, I am horrified that I sent you a silver pullet by mistake instead of the cockerel that I was trying to place. It there is any chance you would be willing to trade me back for the cockerel that was originally intended for you?? Getting the chicks was a long, hard, and expensive haul for me and I've been sick about since I found out it that I grabbed the wrong chick.

I'm also in NE Utah so we can't be that far from each other, I'd be happy to make the drive and bring you the cockerel.
