He's definitely EE, he came from my Ameraucana rooster and Chocolate Cuckoo Orpington And thank you! The dead honest truth is that I didn't really like him all I thought about giving him away and everybody raved about how handsome he is fickle fickle me.

Since he’s a chocolate cross, he carries the chocolate gene, and I believe he could pass it to some of his daughters, even if not bred to a chocolate hen.

If you know both parents, that's much easier.
He cannot have two blue egg genes (none from his mother), but probably does have one (from his father).

So about half of his chicks should lay blue or green eggs, and the other half will lay brown eggs (or possibly white, depending on the mother.)

Truthfully because I'm hatching to sell this season... And I don't want to be listing them as EE/OE if it was a lie! But with 2 full AM roosters, and him being likely at least one blue gene, I don't think it wod be untruthful? And he would give people cooler looking chicks than my blue Ameraucanas would, IMO?

Do you want to guarantee that his offspring will lay blue or green, or do you just want to label them correctly as EEs? Not all EEs lay blue or green, but if you want to be entirely accurate, you could always say that there’s some Easter egger crosses in the mix.

Lol. I just mean that I would cull him if it's easiest/best to take his genetics out of the mix..... Because I don't really need him, I have more "pure" roosters... I just don't like them as much

I bred my “Ameraucana” (EE from the feed store) rooster last summer to some brown egg layers and ended up with only brown egg laying pullets. Mine must have been a double brown rooster

Hopefully your rooster caries a blue egg gene!

No, I don't feel like I have to GUARANTEE it... Just don't want to get peoples' hopes up and have them get only brown eggs... I've had it happen to me and hate it. But I think with my flock it should be a fairly high percentage of blue/green. I just didn't want to have to bother with breeding pens... So having just Ameraucana roosters, heritage mix brown layers, Ameraucana hens, and BCMS, I'd have been able to keep them all together and have brown eggs = EEs, blue eggs = Ameraucana, and BCM eggs = OE
So I feel comfortable with the OE issue now, but the Ameraucana one is still a problem if I keep him....

Oh boy, this sent me down a rabbit hole of more things that I didn't know!!

Sooo now I'm looking forward to seeing what comes from my Blue AM + chocolate cuckoo!
I'm wondering now... I knew (eventually ) that I had black sexlinks because of the barring... But did I also have some sort of brown sexing available?! Wait. I guess not, because my rooster was brown/red, not a solid colour. What about with my black or blue AMs? OR my chocolate cross rooster with my black EE or blue AMs... Ah, it's too much for my tired mom brain!
