Our GLW hen, Chloe was the next one to lay. The barred Rock, Frack laid her first egg at 17.5 week & now Chloe is 2nd in line at 19 weeks. So far both hens are good girls & go all the way back to thier coop from free ranging to lay their eggs in one of the nest boxes.
I really did not think she would be next. When I went out to feed the horses tonight, all of the chickens followed me into the barn except for her. I heard a squawk in the coop & a minute later saw her come running from the direction of the coop panting. I went into the coop to investigate & found her egg.
