2nd "Triple C' coop finished!

great job --love your coop--have you had any trouble with predators? does not look like it!

Love your coop. It is a really nice one. We have 80 regular chickens and 30 Bantams. We built two coops so we can keep the Bantams separate from the big chicks. Our big ones just started laying Monday and as of today we have gotten 13 eggs since then. Can't wait till our Bantams start around November. We get great joy out of our chickens.

Wow!! You guys did an excellent job. Looks very and very well thought out. If a coop could be called "beautiful", I would say that your's qualifies!

I really like this coop and hope to build one similar. Can you tell me what you have up under the roof (between the perlin and in the gaps) to keep out predators? Is it hardware cloth? Hard to see in the pics. Anyway you could post some close up pics of the roof and the construction/details below and around it? Thanks!

I love that heater! We've had a few late hatches here and had to keep the chicks inside for way longer than I wanted to. A heater like that would have been a great solution to putting them outside a little sooner and preserving my sanity. Love the coops. I'm starting to think they are like potato chips since I'm wanting to build a second one too. I love how yours attach.

Wow! This is awesome! This is exactly what I want! I want that Eco Glow thing too. Maybe I can find a bargain on ebay or craigslist. Or Brinsea scratch and dent. Do you have dimenions and materials you used for the main run? Or the whole shebang?

Fantastic coop setup! I like the way they can socialize safely with the current flock as they grow in the safety of the smaller coop/run.

Thanks for posting about pduedo heat plates with a link. I have a brinsea heater like yours but I am thinking about starting some coturnix and my need additional heat. If I can rig something for the short term that will save me from having to pay for another brinsea until I decide for sure if quail are for me, I am all for that!

Also, I have been using stackable laundry/toy bins as nests but the lip on the front is a little low to me. I was thinking of adding a 2X4 across the front to increase the depth, but was reluctant to add wood to my nest boxes since plastic is so much easier to keep clean. Looking at the blue hawk bins, they are a good depth as is, so I tagged those for future purchase. I can deal with the wood in the short term knowing I have a better idea down the road. Love BYC for the way a nub like me can learn from ppl like you.
