2week old Ducklings dying whats up!!! I am at a loss

I am so sorry!!! I know yours were hatched right after mine did. Both of mine are fat and happy and very active so far.

I give them Poultry crumbles (non-medicated) and I also only give them some greens while they bathe. I offer one bowl with food and one bottle with water. I let them eat in the morning, then take their bowl or water and food away. Then they get their bath with the greens duck soup that missprissy suggested a while back. They get lettuce, celery, and spinach... occasionally I throw in a tomato. I have given them yogurt about 4-5x in the tub before I fill it. Again at night they get their crumbles and water bottle and I don't leave anything in with them over night.

I have them in a deep plastic tub as a brooder. I took away their heat lamp as they are feathering out now and the heat is on in the house for now. Now they are quite HUGE mess makers and I'm so scared of mold and issues I clean their brooder EVERYDAY like clockwork. (Can't wait until this is over.)

Are they in an enclosed brooder? Does it get really wet in their? How many ducklings did you start with? It could be an issue with air circulation maybe? Ammonia in the air not vented well?

These are just ideas... not really sure what it can be... Ducks seems so much stronger and such fast growers compared to chicks!?

I really hope this stops and everyone else is healthy and grows up fast and strong.

THEY ALL DIED!!!! The only thing I can possibly think of is they are eating the wood chips and choking or impaction of the crop. I don't have a danged clue. How can you raise ducks one time and keep em all and next time loose em all!

So sorry to hear this. Maybe next time just 86 the wood chips all together. I'm raising ducklings too. I have a warm bathroom in a storage trailor on my property that I use as a hatchery/ brooder. I keep all my babies (right now pharoah quail, ducklings, buttons, baby chicks and bantam baby chicks. The room stays between 75-79 degrees. I have them in different plastic totes with a 60 watt bulb in heat lamp in each. I have newspaper covered with thick paper towels as the flooring. I adjust the height of the lamp based on the temps outside and day and night. I just feed the cucklins non medo dicated chick starter and clean water. So far I havent had any problems. I change the the lining in the ducks brooder twice per day and the chicks and quail once per day. I let them all have continous fresh water and food. This is my 6th duckling hatch so far. Not counting all the day olds I bought last spring and summer. So far I havent had to do anything special for them. I just treat them like the chicks and change their bedding more frequently. The do not get to play in water until they go into the big run when they start to get regular feathers and are not all down. My ducks are Rouens and Blue swedish pretty hardy breeds IMO from my experience..Last year I raised some day old Pekins and did very well. I was amazed how fast those pekins grow!

Oh no Jen!! I'm so sorry! I read a post on here somewhere that said they use the disposable puppy pads for their ducks, maybe that would be an option? I will be getting some on Monday for mine, they haven't hatched yet, but they should be anytime now!

That's so hard.

You got a lot of information about how to take care of them, but if you have succeded in raising them before I wonder instead if they could have all been infected with a disease, especially when ALL of them died like that. Have you looked over the symptoms of some of the poultry diseases? Where did they come from?

I don't know how she has raised the others, or anything about diseases, but I do know that these eggs came from her own birds, I have some of her eggs as well.
