Have you seen them eating acorns?It’s possible she had acorn toxicosis... We do live on a hardwood tree farm after all.
The only real way to know what ailed the bird you euthanized would be to do a necropsy.
Either DIY, where you might see obvious organ damage/disease,
or at a lab that can also do toxicology/disease testing.
