If it aint one thing .... had a pair of earbuds around my neck, and this sneaky little brat snatched one of the tips off and wolfed it down before i could grab her.

started her on ES flush from another thread about an identical topic WITH AN IDENTICAL BREED.... except this duck is still really young. about an hour after the ingestion she started making repeated low quacking noises. she is still pooping. she is flexing as if shes trying to poop. still eating and drinking.

Hi.

I am not familiar with earbuds...

...but what I would recommend is :

• to not give your duckling anything solid to eat for the time being : you DON'T want to risk an obstruction,

• to give Olive Oil to her, AND watch that she drinks a lot of water - so it helps the earbud to move through the digestive tract, and then be expelled.

(If ever she becomes lethargic or stop pooping, you will have to go to the vet ASAP in order to save her.)

Good luck!!

i thought i read here in another thread that olive oil was not good... molasses is good right? my wife went and got some at the store

Since ear bud covers are rounded and made out of an inert substance, it should pass through the duck safely without any action on your part. However, if you're uneasy just letting nature take its course, the best thing to lubricate the digestive tract is raw egg white. Just give it to the duck to drink.

If this was a nail or staple or screw, then you would be right to be very worried as perforation can occur with sharp hard objects such as these.
