Hi everyone i'm new :) used to just have RIR's but this is new...I want something for eggs thats hardy and so i want heritage breed birds for eggs and meat purpose to a minor degree...Will be getting actual meat birds and Turkeys for meat. the three types i want are

Americaunas, Buff orpingtons, and Buff Brahmas anyone have issues with these 3 with each other???

Thanks!

First, welcome to BYC!

I only have experience with the brahmas. Calm birds. They are very heat tolerant and they don't seem to even notice the cold. My hens are good egg layers; right now I am averaging 11 eggs a day from 14 hens. I don't intend to raise them for meat, but from what I've read they are not economical eaters for that purpose even though they are dual purpose birds.
My dark brahma roo is a darling. He's very protective of the girls without being aggressive with humans. He's not super friendly with us humans, but can be held without any fuss.

Some of the buff Orpingtons can really get broody on you.. however when there in a laying mood they do lay fairly well for a large birds, Carcase size is wonderful on them..

I Cant comment on the other breeds..But others should chime in..
