3 Day Old Chicks..Picky EATERS?

We just brought home two 3 day old Marens. I am feeding them the same organic grow mash I feed my 16 week old chickens. They just seem to be pecking at it with not much interest. There are some poops, and they seem energetic, but cheeping loud! I ground it up finer in a cuisan art blender and they still don't seem that keen on it. Should I just be using plain starter? I have about 40 minutes left to go out and get new food, or will they be ok overnight?

I think when they get hungry enough, they'll eat the organic chick food. If you're concerned about getting some nourishment into them, why not hard boil an egg and mash up the yolk? I guarantee they'll eat it, and you'll feel better.

The egg treat might also cut back on the cheeping a bit. Cooked egg is really good for them, from what I heard, so you don't even have to feel guilty about providing it. It's a win-win situation!
