3-day-old chicks, stuff on butts (pics+new pix) -- UPDATE: 2 deaths :(

The other 14 have been acting normally although 8 of the 14 did have at least minor cases of pasty butt when I checked them all out today. I'm not sure what's normal and what would be considered a problem...I cleaned them all off with q-tips, warm water and olive oil anyway though. I think what the other two had must have been more than just pasty butt...they were both very wobbly and weak and the stuff coming out of them smelled very strongly and bad and the rest of the chicks don't seem to have those problems.

How many days should I put apple cider vinegar in their water for? Also, would grit help them any?

Thanks again for the help

Today only one of the 14 had any sort of pasty butt issues...it was the smallest bantam (another Quail Antwerp Belgian) and I cleaned him off as best I could and put him back in. Sure hope he turns out alright. If anyone knows of anything else I could or should be doing, let me know!
