He still won't peck on the ground but it's like he dosen't quite know how to balance to try. He will peck at my finger if i annoy him enough. I got him to drink a lil bit of watermelon water that way. But i'll keep doing what i'm doing we might be going into town today so we'll look for some poly vi sol while we're there and see if that helps. He's very slowly getting stronger though i think if he makes it thru tonight then he has at least a 75 to 80% chance of surviving.

How old is he now???

He was born on the 20th at about 2:30pm so today he is 3 days old. He had a rough start though it looked like he was big for his egg. i took video of him pushing out of the egg after he zipped. If you would like me to send you a copy of the video just let me know and i'll email or pm it to you if i can.

If you have eggs in the bator of several different ages, say 25 coturnix set 5-10, 25 bob whites set 5-15 and 25 chukars set on 5-20. When its time to lock them down, raise the humidity and quit turning, you can move these to a separate hatcher. This way it does not disrupt the other eggs in the main bator... A lot of folks use a still air hova as a hatcher. You see this refered to as a "staggered hatch" and its common. Bill

It's a video so it's hard to upload to here let me see if i can put it on youtube and I'll post the link so you all can watch. It was an old camera so there's no sound but he was peeping like crazy while pushing out.
