Brought home 33 chicks I ordered from the farm store. Ordered 5 of each and they sent 6 of each! The Light Brahmas and Cuckoo Marans and some of the EEs are obvious. But there's one yellow without feathers on her feet, so she's not a Brahma. And I'm not sure how to differentiate between all these chipmunk ones! Tell me what you think, please! Thanks for the help and insight!

Are there rules to help out? Leg color maybe? I was thinking one specifically had a buttery colored chest. I also thought the Welsummers would be smaller than all the rest, but all are about the same. The yellow without feathered feet has orange feet I guess.

It's too early now, but probably in a couple of weeks you will be able to tell. Sussex can be identified by their white legs, Welsummer will have yellow legs, and Easter eggers usually have green legs and beards, and also pea combs. But none of this will be obvious, yet.

Thanks Diva! We'll wait to sell the extras until they're older. I don't want to sell pullets that turn out to be cockerels, or worse, get stuck with the 10% incorrectly identified males! :th
So we'll just hoard them all for a month or so! Besides, we can pick out the prettiest Speckled Sussex, although they will all be pretty! :love
