The following are all 9 weeks old.

The following picture is of an Easter Egger , we think (was sold as an Aracauna at a feed store)...all were pullets we were told but we are guessing this is definitely a Roo considering the saddle feathers, comb and rust colored splashes on the back and wings and the other two of that breed that we have do not have those traits.

This picture is of another "Aracauna" bought out of the same batch as the above chick was but we could swear we heard her 'crow' the other morning. No red comb or saddle feathers though.

We purchased two Barred Rocks from a straight run and tried to guess the best we could based on head spots, legs, etc but guessing this may be a rooster compared to the picture of the other one we have.

So what are your votes....do you think we have two roos, three roos or only one? And are the first and second pics just EE's?

Thanks so much in advance!

I'm gonna say two Roos 1st and third others hens but I'm no expert

Hello Thomps Hens,

I feel ya, I am in the same boat as you.
I have a 12 week old EE that has been crowing for two weeks now, but only when a specific chicken is removed or when high pitched sounds happen.

The chicken looks like a pullet but it crows.
It is very confusing.

Check out my recent post on this

Good luck to you, I hope your chickens turn out to be what you want.
