http://www.vegafarms.com/. All of my chickens are organic. They are happy and do look great, imho. At night they are in a 10x10 enclosure with coop and they are daytime roamers, . I am still waiting for Vega Farms to confirm what type of chickens they are.

Yep. You'll need to wait till they crow or lay an egg. Seriously. It's just a fact of chicken life.

I don't know much about the red birds but the dominques all appear to be male. They do develop combs and wattles pretty early in both sexes but the barring and body shape are different. This is a pullet roughly the same age.

Ok, I finally heard back from Vega farms. They said they are sex-linked type derived from mainly a Rhode Island Red but some barred rock too. Do you all think that the orangish chickens are pullets??

I'm going to say yes the red birds are pullets. Like iv'e stated they aren't what im used to but going by leg size and feather shape they appear to be females.

The reds are red sex link pullets and the dominiques are cockerels.

Actually, if a chicken has pointed saddle feathers, which are male-specific, or a gender-specific coloration, you can tell with 100% accuracy whether they are roosters or hens.
