I personally believe murder is killing anything who does not want to die. I do however believe euthanasia is necessary if suffering.
I will humbly agree to disagree.. :)

None of my chickens want to die.. that doesn't make me a murderer. It makes me human. I eat meat. None of them are suffering when I take their life. I am not euthanizing them.

Just to play devil's advocate... ;)

Here's a second definition from Merriam Webster's:

verb: kill (someone) unlawfully and with premeditation

To many, sentient beings are "someones." I suggest everyone just agree to disagree and leave it at that.

Killing a chicken is 'lawful'.

I cull chicks that can't eat and drink enough on their own to survive.
This chick is not going to 'get better', it has a skeletal deformity...why let it suffer?

I could let it go if the one poster who keeps on and on and on and on abut saving it would have stopped after a couple of posts. SMH.

No, you're not crazy, I noticed they were missing to! @aart made it sound like I was being a pain about this whole thing so I said I'd take back my murder remark and back out of this thread. Under no circumstances do I mean to start an arguement. I just want that chick to have a chance.

Stating your opinion(once or twice) is fine,
but going on and on about it is argumentative and not good forum etiquette.

Just let it go.
and back out of this thread.

I was not going on and on about it. I was merely giving @Livingskies suggestions on finding him a home. I'll back out of this thread if you think I'm causing trouble, which I have no intention of. Goodbye. No more posts from me on this thread.

I have a cross beak hen that is about two years old now. I free range my chickens during the day ... so when I throw out pellets and scratch for them out in the yard in the morning and in the late afternoon I put a small dog bowl inside the pen for "Beak" to eat peacefully. The bowl is deep enough for her to chow down and if I forget to set up her special bowl she comes and reminds me with a very persistent and loud cluck or two. I quickly fill her bowl with layer crumbles and scratch and say, "come on Beak"...and then she follows me back to the coop. She does just fine and lays very delicious eggs!
