The Silkies in my avatar hatched on June 5th (my late father in law’s birthday) and they haven’t started laying yet. They live with my mom in California where the winter is mild so they probably will lay soon.

If I remember correctly your bantams hatched in May? Is the polish a bantam?

Yep, they were hatched toward the end of May. And yes, Mr. Fezziwig is a bantam. He’s like a centimeter taller than Dude, but they weigh about the same.

Thank you for posting all of your pictures and keeping the updates going, they are so helpful! I think I might have a black chick, who I initially mistook for a silkie, then had everyone say bantam cochin, and now I'm getting D'uccle! But her (I hope) colors have been changing from black, and now have some that look just like Marguerite's! Just wanted to let you know your post is still so valuable

Ahhh okay, I found the updates. My Polish roo chicks have an upside down red ‘V’ above the beak at about 3 weeks and I couldn’t see this in your pictures.
