Unfortunately, I couldn't get a photo of either of the girls "crowing". But I did capture a few good images of them just hanging out. Hopefully you can tell from these pics if they are pullets or roos.

This is "Bertie" and she likes to silent crow: (white leghorn crossed with New Hampshire, I think)

And this is "Jessica" who also "crows" when I am looking:

The two of them have started "facing off" with little chest bumps. Jessica always wins. [IMG]

Any ideas on these pics? Is my "crowing" chick a roo?

A few of my 3 week olds do this too, I assumed it was little yawns or stretching or something since at least one of my sex links does it (and we're pretty sure she's a girl [IMG] )

I am hoping these ladies stay ladies. [IMG]
Its good to hear of other pullets who do this same "crowing" thing. Thanks for the response.

I've had chicks in their very first week of life crow. Trust me, sound comes out and it's really cute. It probably had shaving in its throat or a piece of food.

Quote:Jessica looks like a rooster. The jury is still out on Bertie, but if I had to guess, I'd say pullet.

    Uh oh.
Ok. Thanks for the heads up. I'll keep a close eye on her/him.

PS - They do look very cute when they're "crowing" though. [IMG]
