I have a hen that hatched 3 chicks about 3 weeks ago. They have been outside with Mom this entire time, but it has been warm. The next several nights it will get down to 47-50. I wasn't worried as Mom was still settling them under her at night. However, tonight she decided to roost with them. Do I let Momma do her job and not worry or do I put a heat source in the coop? I also have a 4th chick who hatched a few days late and is about a week in development behind his siblings. I have brought him inside. It is a very small coop with only one other adult hen.
Thank you for the advice. I have read other posts, but most are about putting incubated chicks outside rather than chicks that have been outdoors all along.
