Hi All,

This is a non-emergency so I'm going to ask the question here.

I did a search but only came up with issues related to chicks and pasty butts.

I adopted two adult (RIR and RED Star) hens. I've had them for two weeks now and both seem to act fine and happy. The Red Star has produced about 5 eggs a week.

The RIR has not produced any eggs. I noticed that she has quite a bit of poo sticking to her feathers. Not so much to plug her up but does not look good.

Additionally, her pooper (don't know the tech name) is very active, kinda like an unhappy space alien moving around constantly.

Any suggestions on what I should do?

I asked the lady I got them from their ages, she only said the Redstar is 2-3 years ,and the RIR is "Older"

Thanks in advance!

I don't see any bugs on them and I've powdered them both and their entire coop with DE. I read about worms can cause them problems, how can I tell if they have worms? What to use if they do have worms?

I think I'm going to wash her rear end this weekend, and cut back some feathers.

Vent-thats a funny name, brings new meaning to some one thats "Venting"
