-30 degrees in pennsylvania next week

so will my ducks survive the -30 temps in their house for 4 days next week...what can i do to make sure they do not freeze to death...i know a lot of straw and they have that and its always dry...if anyone can help i would much appreciate it...thanks in advance

They will survive. We get this weather every winter. The only birds that could have problems are older ones and those with previous problems. Ducks are pretty hardy.

My ducks refused to go into a shelter. We had 2 feet of snow. It was -22 F. They slept out in the snow. As oldhenlikesdogs said, they are pretty hardy.

It was those temps here for 3 solid weeks and my kahki cambell duck sat in the water bucket all day


if you have a pool dont let them in it keep em as dry as possible, only water bowls and NO water in the coop

They should always be herded inside where it’s dry and safe when temps get frigid and snow is deep. They may not want to go but it’s for their own good.

My Duckies usually refused to go inside their bedroom, but surprise! Surprise! They voluntarily went inside the last few days when it felt lousy cold.

What part of PA?!?!?!? I am in PA near Philadelphia and its 30-40's all week except a low of 18 just 1 day!!!! Is the Pittsburg side of PA really that much colder?? WOW!

For cold weather though, dog igloos or the coop so they can shelter from winds will help a lot. Putting straw in those will also help a lot. If there's ice or snow on the ground, a trail of straw will protect their little feet from freezing. Cracked corn is a great thing to feed during the cold too! The cracked corn helps give proteins and other essentials to keep their bodies warm overnight. Also a great snack that will fill them up!

Mine are coming in the garage!!! I don’t want to have to work in it and they shouldn’t have to sleep in it either! I had to do this last year for about 3 days
