I dont know about OP,and her number of dogs, but mine is not alone, there are 2 other shibas with him,,and they are set up for these temps,,they have been growing fur for it for several months now.In fact most of the time they are sleeping curled up on top of the snow bank, not because they have to but because they want to.Its not like I make my min pin sleep outside,,in fact she sleeps on the couch under a blanket with a hoodie on.

Northern breeds, in a pack, in an insulated dog house with bedding is a different story

I didn't mean to upset anyone.

I have akitas, they LOVE the snow and cold but when it gets THAT cold, they won't even go outside to pee!

I agree. I have two dogs and two barn cats that are outside in these temps and they are just fine. This isn't the coldest it has been either. My dogs are together and have a double walled insulated dog house full of straw with a tarp covered (sides and top) pen. The cats even have an insulated dog house full of straw if they choose to use it. The chickens are fine as long as they have good air circulation (no drafts) and my horses have a nice thick coat on and are happy in their three sided shed. That is of course when they use it. Most of the time they sleep in the snow. Most northern animals are aclimated to the cold and it doesn't bother them like some southern animals but not all animals should be out, depends on their breed. I sure wouldn't leave a shorthaired dog outside.

Our outside dog- hates to come into a warm house for more than a few minutes, she prefers the cold. We are at -26.5 right now and she was rolling and playing in the snow and chasing rabbits when I just went to put young llamas and alpacas into the zebra/antelope barn.

Even though we heat a few barns, our chickens do not have heat and they do just fine.

Now this is just me,but I don't think PEOPLE should live in a place where it gets that cold!!!!! lol
That is just too cold for me!!!!!
Good luck what ever you do with the critters!!

I have to agree with you..but it seems every summer we forget about how cold it really is,,until its to late.

Ya know, it really isn't that bad if the wind is not blowing.
I have spent time in the south, and it can be 50F, and you will feel liKe you are freezing......because there is so much moisture in the air. It is a damp cold that chills you to the bone.
Many people dont believe me when I tell them that in a dry climate (like northeastern Montana), it can get to zero and you will not be as cold as you would be at 50F in Georgia..........its true!
And we don't have millions of gigantic bugs! *maybe a few mosquitoes*
