My girls are 9 weeks old today! As is typical, we are having a spring storm here in the Denver area. Right now it's 33 and the overnight rain has turned to snow. There's about 2" of slush on the grass. I have no idea what to do with the girls today. Their coop is inside the garage, The outside run isn't completed yet--no roof. They have plenty of places to hide around the yard, under the deck, under some solar panels, but are they too young to be out in this all day?

I certainly wouldn't leave them out there... for several reasons. What about neighborhood dogs, etc? Keep them safe, until your run is complete. Good luck- enjoy your chickens!

Won't hurt them a bit to stay in the coop for the day-- these things happen. You say you're getting snow in Denver? I'm at 6500 feet and just heavy fog here... but yes, cold. I'm told the winds will pick up here soon (after noon). Not looking forward to that.

Today, I'm only worried about their age and the temps. Dogs aren't a problem for us. I am somewhat concerned about attacks from above as I've seen the occasional hawk in the 13 years we've lived here, but not for a while. The chicks usually hang out under stuff, I've noticed.
