33 Eggs Due to Hatch Oct 25 (Hatch Complete)

Ohhh I know Those who receive eggs should have to make the Delaware Oath. I promise to use these eggs to improve the breed. I then promise to share the eggs from my improved birds so that others may continue to improve the breed.

That way you won't always have to be "The One"!!!!!!

LOL, that's too funny, the OATH, LOL. Good one! I'm not the one, but there sure needs to be more of us, many more of us. With health issues that keep coming up with both my husband and myself, I may not be able to keep separate breeding flocks for too much longer, so would like to "spread the joy" while I have these.

I am sure everyone will get in line if you give your Del flock up. . . just let me be FIRST in line!!!!

You have done a wonderful job promoting the breed on BYC - I hope you don't have to let them go, but I think you know enough people here that would take wonderful care of them, and would continue to breed toward the SOP.

Oh I hate the dreaded health issues!!! We try to pretend they don't exist here as we struggle through them. I just had a lovely cortisone injection in my sacro-iliac joint on Monday and today after I finish doing Math with my daughter I've got to get out back working on the new pasture fence line.

My husband is out there now after spending the night having another sleep study done and despite his MS, so know that there are folks who can totally sympathize with you there. You should never do more than you can for the benefit of others.

We struggle here at our farm just trying to take care of our animals. And the Chickens I have are starting to supply more eggs than we can eat. So I'm going to have to find an outlet for them. I think I'm going to be giving them to some neighbors who are never stingy with their help though. Because we really need them to keep helping!!!!

Beth, you're one of the folks on my mental list.

I just can't do a schedule like I used to do with the BBS Orps. This way, I can do what I can, when I can, and not feel like I'm letting someone down if things are too rough that week.

Cynthia,
If only I knew you better I would make some cracks about a "Mental List"and how I most certainly deserve to be on one. . . . .
But seriously, thank you!!!! I am glad I am on yours!

I don't know how old you and Laney are, but I am at the age where the body starts falling apart, and I empathize with the health issues and the aches and pains- I have had minor knee surgery, and wear two lovely (

Speckled Hen please don't forget I want some chickies.....Or JamesA, if you take the oath (smile) please remember I want some of these and I promise to take the Oath....

Speckled Hen, when hubby and I get our health together on the same day and when all the animals behave and there are no goats being born, etc etc, we'd love to schedule a visit up.

Why is it that the more I know what I need to be about doing, the less able I am to do it? If only I felt as young as my shoe size or my iq before coffee!!! hahaha~

Have a blessed day.....Love those Dellies....I was telling a neighbor about wanting some and he said he just loved those delilahs too!!! smile...

So my first hen (planning ahead) must be named Delilah! but she better behave herself!

If it is Nancys time to get eggs I could bring her eggs back with me from my trip. Are my babies in the hatcher stage or out of the turner? I need updates!!!!!!
