#12 hatched and #13 is zipping. They're going to keep me from sleeping tonight, too.

Speckledhen, I have a question for you since you are an experienced hatcher. (and I am not)

You said you take the dry chicks out after 24 hours. How do you take the chicks out without shrink wrapping the ones that haven't hatched yet?

I make sure the humidity is bumped up higher before I remove them. And my husband and I do it as a team. I lift up the lid just enough for him to get his hand in there and grab the chick. We rarely have any shrinkwrapped chicks. I don't necessarily recommend folks do it that way; it's just how we do it.

Congratulations Speckled Hen! Wish I had some hatching...Set a new batch yesterday so I have weeks to go.

Now, #14 and #15 are zipping and others are working on making their pips larger now. Still a few not pipped, but not sure exactly how many.
