35 yrs. & heart attack...update p.14

Gretchen, I know exactly what you are going thru. Last September at the ripe old age of 29 I had a heart attack.

I just thought it was really bad heartburn, but it wouldnt go away. So finally I gave in and went to the ER. I was floored when they told me I was having a heart attack. No way at 29. So I had a heart cath and a stent put in. Since then Ive had 4 more heart caths, and in Febuary I had another stent put in. Now Im in cardiac rehab/therapy. My blood pressure had never been high. I was a little over weight. They said it was caused by high cholesterol, I had never had it checked. Both of my Grandpaws had heart attacks but they where both in thier 60s. Now Im on a low fat and low cholesterol diet. Have been since September. I am glad you are home and doing ok. I have been praying for you because its a very scarey thing to go thru and deal with. Praying that they have you fixed up and will be back to normal very soon. My prayers are with you and your family.

G, I did not see PC's thread! How could I miss that? I just cried!!! I am sooo glad you are ok and back home.

This is my biggest fear Gretchen. I am only 24 but I am very overweight and my grandfather died in his sleep from a heart attack in his early 50's.
I have anxiety disorder to top it off so everytime I have a REALLY bad panic attack I am off running to the ER or the walk-in getting checked for chest pain with EKG's and stuff. It's just so scary.
I am so relieved that you got help in time.
What scares me most are the ones where people have no symptoms. Makes me very anxious. You are very lucky to have not brushed it off and gone and got checked when you did.
Every woman should know that heart attack symptoms for us are way different than for men.

What happens now for you?

Glad you are back and taking care of the problem. Knowing what it is is a big part of getting well. When you get all well and stuff maybe you can go back and smack that first doctor!!!

So sorry, Gretchen, I did not see P.C.'s post either! Prayers and good thoughts coming you way. I have a 35 yr. old neighbor who has suffered two heart attacks over this past year and a half. I love her like a daughter and it scares me, too. she is not overweight but dr's said heredity...terrible thing to happen to any young person. Prayers to all of you with heart problems!

So grateful you called 911 and got the help you needed. I, too, missed PC's post so I didn't know why you were gone. Will keep you in my prayers as you learn about a new lifestyle.

Omigoodness....
You and I don't know each other but I'm so glad you are ok. Stress has ways of creeping into the body and wreaking havoc...I'm glad you paid attention (more than the dr!!! LORDY) and called 911. Let this be a wake up call to everyone, young and older, pick and choose your battles, don't sweat the small stuff!

The girls are here with me...my sisters all came home and my mom has babysat.

And my birthday is May 11th...close.

The eggs are still in the bator and I tried to talk to my sis into checking them and the water level...don't know what to expect now. Bluey already said he'd send more eggs if these didn't turn out.
