No, the airsac will be the same size if the chick is dead or alive. Once the chick put its beak into the airsac you have about 24-28 hours until hatch.

i have 1 sicilian buttercup egg and 2 red sex-link eggs and 1 buff orpington and 1-2 GLW and some i don't know what laid them. oh and the cockerels are blue laced red wyandottes. it will be an interesting mix

well my bday is next month so maybe i can put that on my list. I failed once at a turkey hatch b/c the power flickered and my bator never came back on
