Cool. I'll do that. Hopefully the rest of my chickens will be laying by them. Durn things are already 6 months old and only a few are laying.

Mom is in the middle of her first hatch ever and I've been getting a phone call every day asking questions about everything. Even stuff I hadn't thought of.

Takes me back to my first hatch all those years ago.

Hillbilly Hen is going to give me some Icelandic eggs, and they may be ready by that date.

All this talk of Icelandics makes me think I'm missing out on something. Darn, there's always room for another breed. Now just to find some eggs to swap for.

I will be in again this is too much fun to miss and I'll have eggs for people too. Should have Delawares, New Hampshires and a few Partridge Rocks along with Marans eggs and turkeys if we get the lights on by this next weekend.......turkeys need to be set a week ahead of the chickens eggs......

Looks like we've gotten most of the "die hard regulars" from years past.

I can't believe how COLD it has gotten here... don't get me wrong, I dislike 115 degrees but this 40 degree weather in November is too soon. I'd like to enjoy a little "paradise" weather for longer. I actually turned on the heater for an hour yesterday morning set it for 66 here in the house.

roo still hasn't crowed (& he also hasn't got frisky with the ladies either)... BUT... I now know of a vet who de-crows roos so I could be back in business before long IF the ladies cooperate and lay, other wise I could be hatching EEs and they are easy to find in AZ...

I lost a chicken to something yesterday, whether it was by land or air, I'm not sure. Just got the .410 loaded, now I'm trying to find the clip for the semi automatic .22 - and I'm going to ask my boss to leave an hour early today. I'ma get that predator.

Too bad the boyfriend is out moose hunting, he's a better shot than me.
