I'd say it's a hawk if the ducks are gone, too. They start to hunt around this time of year when the wild waterfowl migrate. Best to keep everyone locked up until you shoot the jerk.

I lost 2 chickens last night when dad forgot to close the coop for me. Seems like the heartbreak is being shared.
