I'm willing to try again, for sure. I really do want some geese. However, I'm going to need to get rid of the ducks to make room for the geese. The ducks and I might not have a great relationship but they're sticking around for the time being.

So what do you think about doing a pre-hatch contest? Maybe I can donate some of these silkie eggs to arrive the day before set date for the NYD hatch?

Is anyone interested? Perhaps someone has an idea for a contest and is willing to run it?

I hatched and hand raised Sebbies this spring. Love LOVE these babies.

They are super friendly. They hang out right outside the back door, follow me all over. They are just so sweet.


On the other hand...hatched & hand raised ducklings this past winter & spring.... they loved us inside, moved them outside and they think we are the boogie man. Looking to rehome most of them.

Well gryeyes you're more than welcome to come visit. We currently boast snow on the ground and no power with temps in the mid 30s.
