It would be for the kids, ya know, because I teach social studies. See, I NEED first hand experience of Australia. Plus, it's one of the few places outside the USA that I want to visit! I'll start packing. How does one keep an incubator going on an airplane?!?!?

Tehehe Customs might have something to say about the 'bator.

If you can get it past them I'll give you an egg order to bring over with you!

I guarantee THAT will get Customs attention! Feel free to head over, I have a few acres, plenty of room for pitching tents if the house gets full. At least none of you are likely to complain about the early morning chorus here.

I teach High School science so I need to check out the local fauna. I also had a pen pal in Mooroolbark, Vic when I was in school. I reconnected with him and his wife 2 years ago on Facebook. I'd need to manage a side trip to meet them in person. Do you suppose I could find somebody to deal with frozen waterers here while I was gone? We're having a heat wave. Its the warmest its been all day at 33 F.

Ok.. I am already trying to figure out..........how am I supposed to separate the egg at hatch. Some are pure, some not. I have to get the thinking cap on. I could do baskets.

Some will hatch in the Brinsea, the rest will hatch in the Dickey.
HMMMmmmmm wonder if I can take the egg holders out of the trays and cover them to separate. Just turn of the turner.

Don't extend an invite to me unless you mean it... ask Mahonri... he had to deal with me when I showed up in AZ.

And do you have anything poisonous like scorpions/spiders that would make an, ahem... interesting night in your yard?

Sleet and snow here earlier today, it's cleared and we're at a balmy 26. I run a 100 foot extension cord from the house to the coop for a heated water base. I do believe the girls spend a good portion of their day entertaining themselves by attempting to put all their shavings IN the water for my enjoyment when I get home.

mrheinz77, would you believe I used to live in Mooroolbark for a while? Small world!

It's great you got in contact with him again, Facebook does have it's uses though I'm skittish of the whole privacy thing. I'll pass on your weather though, if 33f is a heatwave I hate to think what you consider cold. Brrrr!

Oh I mean it, just give me at least a days notice so I can get down to the airport to pick you up.

No scorpions, never seen one anyway. Spiders we definitely have around but not usually roaming the yard trying to climb into the tents of unsuspecting visitors.

I don't know how big you coops are but my chickens loved to do that in the breeding pens so now their water is up on a wire mesh platform they have to jump up on to drink. Solved the problem for me.

Edit to add: On tent visitors, I hope your not allergic to cats, you will have kittens who want to sleep with you.
