4/12/12 Setting Date--Anyone joining me?

Sphinx I was able to watch one of yours hatch! So fun. I have been enjoying yours more than mine I think. Yours doesn't stress me out! I can just watch and enjoy.
I have decided after watching yours that banties are harder to hatch and take longer with the process. Sheesh!

Well the one I was so worried about made it out on her own finally. I was getting ready to pull her out and I saw she had started to zip. I watched and she was out in about 30 from that point. Who knew? I glad I didn't have to help her. So 4 of the seven have hatched and one more has zipped.

Two have hatched out. It appears that four more are pipped. I can't see anything on the 7th egg, but the angle could be wrong and I just can't see it. The egg that doesn't appear to have done anything was the most active chick when candled, so who knows.

I'm glad you were able to watch Bryan hatch, Aunt Hattie. I missed it! I was driving the junior high carpool. From what I heard, it hatched just moments after school ended, but most of the class stayed and watched. It sounds like everyone was incredibly excited.

Ok so I have 5 chicks hatched and no other pips in the other two eggs. Oh and nothing happening under my broody hens so far. So going into day 22 with no pips. So I guess I'll be watching your web cam tonight Sphinx. I hope they wait until the kids are back in school though!
Anybody else hatching?

Just checked on egg 3, day 23 no pips. No movement on candling. cracked airsac and lots of fluid so thinking it drowned:-( happy note other 2 are doing well. due to lockdown again Saturday but may leave it til Sunday morning as high humidity will probably have had a bad time in last few days. These are my own mix eggs so not too worried bout hatch rate on these.

Miss Giggles, sorry about your lost chick. I hope that your remaining eggs hatch well.

Aunt Hattie, I feel so lucky! I went to bed around 11pm last night, and nothing. This morning, at 6:20, dh gave me a kiss goodbye, and it woke me enough to go watch the webcam, and I got to see Andy hatch. I can see Ginger working busily. Bet she hatches in an hour or so. Feeling quite concerned about Erin, Fred, and CJ.

Well guys, I woke up this morning thinking I was insane in the membrane. I could hear the "freshly hatched" peeping going on from the 'bator from my last hatch. Thought to myself, No.. Those eggs are bad and I need to go toss them out today. Sure enough one SSG is out from that 'bator with no real heat source since I shut it down a few days ago!!!

SEVERAL eggs from this hatch are pipping and just a talking. Didn't have time to lay them on their sides so they are on the turner. Seem to be hatching fine, though. We shall see.

Just checked on chickies, no1 is doing really well and is venturing out from under the brooder for food and poops. Chick 2 seems to be fading, hasn't eaten and is sleeping ALOT. It is able to move but doesn't seem to have much energy. Other eggs due to hatch Sunday night onwards so I hope I at least get 1 survivor from the 9 eggs in there to keep no1 company (not holding out much hope for no2).

Chicckie 2 has passed.........Chicckie 1 very lonely

Sphinx I think you are going to get a 100% hatch! I just watched two more hatch. So happy for you.

Miss Giggles I'm so so sorry for your little chick dying. Do you have any broody hens? I had a lone chick my last hatch so I put her out with my broody hen and she is as happy as can be.

orumpoultry wow that is amazing haha what luck! Let us know how many hatch.

I'm going to try and get pictures up later today of the five little silkies I have. I have more eggs waiting to go in the incubator but now after your story orumpoultry I'm feel like I need to leave the other 2 eggs for awhile to see if they will hatch.
