Mine that looks just like that just turned 4 months, and he looks to be the same size.

Mkay. Store only sells two kinds of chickens here. Red ones & Meat birds. Red ones take closer to a year before they look that mature. Meat ones don't live long enough to look that mature.

Thank you all very much for your honest replies. He said he would be willing to take him back (I live in the city) so not all is lost!
